Yes this is normal. When they are under load, they will not make that noise. We have driven robots around with these wheels on and they are not noisy at all.

Let us know after you get them integrated on a robot how they sound / perform.

According to the assemblers, the notch for the clip was partially covered by the gear.

Depending upon how much of the groove was being covered, this is normal. The groove is larger than the clip to allow for tolerance stack up. If the clip can't be assembled, then that is a different story all together. Did they try to install the e-clip?

I'll do just that. (I wasn't terribly concerned, mind. I just figured I'd ask while I was on CD and so were you...

...coming back to FLR any year soon?)

Just a short comment that 1676 is very pleased with the 2 stage ball shifters we received last week. They assemble quickly, shift like a dream, and our break in process did not reveal much metal dust in the grease.

Can't wait to get 150 hours on them!

We decided to hold off on installing until we got some official advice. Thanks for being so active on the thread!

Do y'all have any idea when the 1/2" hex bearings will be back in stock? They're an important part of making all of the rest of your stuff work right. :)

We took them out of stock to 100% inspect the runout based on the earlier CD post. They will be back in stock no later than Tuesday.

For what it's worth, we also experienced significant (visible) wobbling on 2 of the 4 1/2 inch hex bearings we ordered. I don't have a video of it, but I just wanted to bring it to your attention that it's probably not just an isolated case.

FWIW, of the 80 I just got, 20+ are so far exactly what we expected. There's a little variation on how well they fit on VEXPro .5" hex stock, but none of the 20 were out of center.

Ah, I missed the posts on that before replying here. Thanks for the head's up. We'll look for them next week.

Ricky, Paul,

Any idea on when the Hex bore versa-hubs will re-stock?

Ed,

We are currently inspecting them. We will be putting some back in inventory late today, but a limited quantity. Basically, the supplier broached the hex such that some parts are seeing a .006" to .010" runout to the flat face and to the versakey pilot. We are putting the good parts in inventory and reworking the parts out of specification.

If you are in a pinch now and have access to a hex broach, you can broach the 1/2" round with keyway to a 1/2" hex.
