AndyMark prices drop

Dear Chief Delphi community,

We at AndyMark were surprised by the products, timing, and prices put forth by Innovation First with their new Vex pro line. We realize that their product offerings are design iterations devised from using the trial and error of the FIRST community, and especially focused on many parts included in the AndyMark product line. We also realize this is great for our community, as it allows robot builders to make more with less money. It also challenges all of the other suppliers to step up and make adjustments to their product lines and prices.

Over the past few years, we have been able to streamline our supply chains and drive our costs down. Due to this, we are able to handle the challenge put forth by our competition, and we are lowering our prices on these items:

Bearings
Hubs
Shifter Gearboxes
Toughbox Gearboxes
CIMple Boxes
#35 and #25 Roller Chain
4" HiGrip Wheels

As we evaluate this further, we may carry on this momentum to adjust more prices. Stay tuned!

While we make this pricing announcement, we also would like to say that these products are proven and reliable. We believe in continuous improvement and appreciate feedback from this community.

We work hard to keep as much inventory in stock for the FIRST build season. Due to this, we utilize short supply chains, involving local suppliers. Most of these companies are within driving distance of our Indiana offices. 100% of our gears, sprockets, plastic moldings, bent and punched items, milled items, and lathed items are made by these suppliers, here in the USA. We are proud of putting many people to work locally within our operations and at our nearby suppliers' facilities.

If you have any questions regarding our pricing or products, please PM me directly, respond to this thread, or contact us at sales@andymark.com.

Sincerely,
Andy Baker

Thank you for all you have done for the FIRST community and for giving all teams such a great experience in buying and using your products.

Now that's capitalism at its best...and another reason for us to continue to do business with a great company and crew!

Great stuff Andy! With these prices we'll be proud to support both AM and IFI this season.

I could care less about a price war. I'm more excited to see higher quality robots with VersaWheels and SuperShifters because of the new options available from VexPro and the lowered prices from Andymark.

Thanks you, AndyMark, for the price drop. Seeing lower resource teams who can now afford more advanced parts makes my day.

This is the price drop I'm really excited about. I really want to keep supporting US manufacturing, and I really like AM's high quality aluminuim gearbox line. Hopefully the 4" performance hex wheels are in them list of items being evaluated for an upcoming price drop, they're such an awesome wheel.

Andy, keep in mind that I for one would pay a premium for high quality parts made in the US. While I'm all in favor of capitalism, please don't bankrupt yourself either. We need good vendors like you to continue to supply the FRC community.

Thank you for the order! We have implemented a price adjustment policy, located at the bottom of our Purchase Options page.

You're most welcome. I'm a big fan of AndyMark, and your consistent and continued commitment to quality and service-after-the-sale.

Nice work, Andy. I was concerned that those ne'er-do-wells at IFI had gotten the jump on AndyMark for this FRC season. ;)

(And because Travis wondered in the IFI thread: my concern was that the IFI announcement would push AndyMark into a situation where it was no longer profitable to compete in the gearbox and wheel market, and AndyMark would instead shift to producing mostly complementary, rather than substitute products—like the FIRSTChoice items for which IFI has no equivalents. That concern partially stems from AndyMark's use of U.S. suppliers that tend to be more expensive than foreign ones—which in my mind corresponded with original pricing model, given a fairly healthy profit margin. Apparently there was enough margin to slash prices, so it looks like the competition is having a good result for the rest of us.)
