Add a forum or subdivision for Fantasy First

I'd like to see a separate forum for fantasy first postings. I applaud the use of the FF prefix so I can ignore them. If there were a separate sub-forum containing them, I could un-check at the recent messages and not see them at all.

There already is. You can un-check it in your settings. http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=128

So there already is such a sub-forum, and most appear to be using it. My confusion comes from the use of the recent activity check boxes. They apply to the portal page. I'm using the new posts search, which apparently does not follow those check boxes.

I amend my request, therefore, to an explanation of how this (and other?) fora may be excluded from the new posts search.

There's a drop down beside 'new posts' that'll allow you some options for what you see in a search. The downside is that it's only additive -- you can subscribe to forums you want to see individually, but you can't opt out of them that way.

I share your frustration with the volume of FF posts that sometimes appear.

Thanks. I see the drop down next to new posts. I've subscribed to fora of interest, but if I subscribe to everything but FF, it reduces the value of subscription immensely. How about adding another option to that dropdown that follows the recent activity display check-offs? It would make navigation to the search trickier or more precise, but I think it would be worth it, especially this time of year.

I feel your pain.

I'd like to see a thread-level opt-out feature for the "new posts" search.

I want to see all new threads and new posts in all forums, but I want to be able to opt-out of specific high-volume threads I have zero interest in.
