Frisbees for Ultimate Ascent

Hi all! I hope you're excited for Ultimate Ascent!!!

Has anyone been able to find the frisbee product online or at any store? the Part is a Wham-O Frisbee Super Flyer, Item number 53214. I am unable to find it anywhere except for on wham-o.com, and I can't even buy it there. I tried contacting there Customer Service, but it is closed. Has anyone had any luck?

Are you sure what your school's gym gave you is the SAME as the game pieces? Make sure you design your robot around the proper DISC.

AndyMark will have the Frisbees for sale per the KOP video. They are also availble via FIRST Choice.

They are up on AndyMark. They are $5.50 each.

FIRST has asked them to limit orders to 10 of each color per order this week.

@Tanis: Total for paid ones too? Or does the 10/color limit only exist for FIRSTChoice ordering?

Not sure about FIRSTChoice vs normal ordering, but I believe that the 10 limit is specifically for the normal (ie non-FIRSTChoice) ordering. I'm guessing it applies to both.

Hopefully AndyMark will clarify or someone who asks will post back with the answer.

As a warning, the Wham-o Frisbees found at Sports Authority measure out as correct, but are NOT the same as the game Frisbees.

Does anyone know how reliable to regular shipping will be from Andy Mark on the frisbees? Is it worth paying for the express shipping ($100!).

What is the most significant differences. The ones we purchased for Robot in 3 Days are 175g which was the only difference based on pure description? FIRST lists them as +/- 5g so it's in spec.

We thought the same thing, but they are completely different. When you compare them to the KOP game pieces, the Sport Authority ones can partially nest inside the game pieces and for lack of a better word are "cupped" more.

I am guessing that the FIRST Frisbee is a custom part.

I went out to my car to get my regulation disc ($3.50 per disc in bulk...) only to come back in, read the rules and

Of course we're forced into buying non-standard crap again.

Buying Frisbees

Our team has been trying to buy the frisbee type from the game manual. Wham-O Super Flyer part# 53214. We've tried Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sports Authority and Dunham's to no avail. If anyone know how to get some, help would be appreciated!

Re: Buying Frisbees

Your best bet is to get them through AndyMark to ensure that you have the exact same frisbee. They are $5.50 each.

FIRST has asked them to limit orders to 10 of each color per order this week.

I haven't seen anyone successfully match the frisbee in a brick-and-mortar store or through any other online vendors.

As an ultimate frisbee player I could cry over this point. This could be such a beautiful way for ultimate frisbee (a sport I love with it's own version of Gracious Professionalism as a foundation) to spread across the country. This will still help growth immensely but the fact that they use this disc instead of the regulation disc that would actually be cheaper and better is heartbreaking.
