Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue

I apologize for the confusion. I'm personally not a big fan of SW licensing, and this is one of the reasons why. The standard process for manufacturing is to put a unique serial number on each package, but FRC is quite unique. By the time we received the folders, it was too late to do anything but roll with it. We are definitely redoing the packaging next year. We'll try to make the activation less confusing.

Actually, I think this was a good object lesson in RTFM. So much so I thought it was planned.

Now how would that work out with NI knowing Greg sits on Delphi all night answering questions? :yikes:

We are still having an issue with registering using the actual serial number. The following message pops up:

Anyone have any ideas?

If you are still having licensing issues, please goto ni.com/frc and get help directly from the application engineers. The read these forums as well, but will likely be more effective there.

Thanks for your help, turned out to be a bad install (insert sheepish smile here... o.O there are some dark smileys :deadhorse:) Anyways, a full un- and re-install worked and the new serial activated it! :D

I located the S14 S/N and it worked for all components EXCEPT the Application Builder. Has anyone else successfully activated the Application Builder with the S14 serial number?

LabVIEW shouldn't be activating as individual components but as one big bundle called FIRST Robotics Competition. The best way to see the status of your licenses and activate them is to open up the NI License Manager Program. If you open this do you see individual components listed under LabVIEW 2012 or one?

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue

Team 4377 is having some issues with our registration, as well. We've installed Labview, but when we tried to register the software, we were told that our serial number was invalid, even though it was fine when we installed Labview. Now when we open Labview, it says that it's in Evaluation Mode and that we cannot run programs this way. We're completely stuck on where to go from here.

If using the S14... serial number in the Activation screen doesn't fix it, you may need to contact NI technical support. See the Getting Started window, Support tab for the information.
