2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
Every time I try to register my team's copy of labview, I get an error about the product code not matching my product. I'm getting emails giving me activation codes, and I get the same error when using those to activate labview.
I've quadruple checked, and the serial number is the same one as on the envelope LabView came in. |

Same here. I have not found a solution yet probably just call NI on Monday.

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
I don't have an envelope with me, so I can't be sure where it is located, but the registration key should start with S14X. Ignore the number on the envelope and look for a nine character code that starts with S14X.

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
The serial key is in little itty bitty print on the white and yellow card that came in the envelope, not the big blue card.

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
The Serial Number is S14X86763.

Thanks for the help

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
In the 2013 Getting Started with Control System guide, it's S14X... On page 64. I don't know if it works as I don't have the DVD.

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
Our serial begins with M77X as well. Our folder contained no little card with any other registration information...Someone goofed up a bit!
|
Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
Try using the serial : S14X86763 . The M77X... doens't seem to work, but the S14X... does.

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
Why is NI so confusing!?
Thank you for the correct S/N, saved me from an hour or two of headaches! |
Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
I apologize for the confusion. I'm personally not a big fan of SW licensing, and this is one of the reasons why. The standard process for manufacturing is to put a unique serial number on each package, but FRC is quite unique. By the time we received the folders, it was too late to do anything but roll with it. We are definitely redoing the packaging next year. We'll try to make the activation less confusing.

Actually, I think this was a good object lesson in RTFM. So much so I thought it was planned.

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
We are still having an issue with registering using the actual serial number. The following message pops up:

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
If you are still having licensing issues, please goto ni.com/frc and get help directly from the application engineers. The read these forums as well, but will likely be more effective there.

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
Thanks for your help, turned out to be a bad install (insert sheepish smile here... o.O there are some dark smileys :deadhorse:) Anyways, a full un- and re-install worked and the new serial activated it! :D

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
I located the S14 S/N and it worked for all components EXCEPT the Application Builder. Has anyone else successfully activated the Application Builder with the S14 serial number?
|
Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
LabVIEW shouldn't be activating as individual components but as one big bundle called FIRST Robotics Competition. The best way to see the status of your licenses and activate them is to open up the NI License Manager Program. If you open this do you see individual components listed under LabVIEW 2012 or one?

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
Team 4377 is having some issues with our registration, as well. We've installed Labview, but when we tried to register the software, we were told that our serial number was invalid, even though it was fine when we installed Labview. Now when we open Labview, it says that it's in Evaluation Mode and that we cannot run programs this way. We're completely stuck on where to go from here.

Re: 2013 FRC Labview Registration issue
If using the S14... serial number in the Activation screen doesn't fix it, you may need to contact NI technical support. See the Getting Started window, Support tab for the information.
