How to modify imported dynamic part
I just imported a linear slide from master carr that had been expanded but I cant close it. Is it possible to modify an imported cad part?

Re: How to modify imported dynamic part
it is definitely possible in the full version . I don't know about the student version if you're using that. In the feature manager tree you should see an icon with the imported geometry and any new features you've created below that. Then just save the file. If the ability to save is greyed out it may because you're still in an active command that needs to be completed first .

Re: How to modify imported dynamic part
Student version should be able to edit those files. Now it also depends on the structure of the model, but McMaster is generally fairly good about their models. Unless the entire file is a single imported feature (and McMaster generally doesn't do that), you should be able to open the part directly and edit the features to collapse the slider. The one problem is that a linear slide is by intent a dynamic assembly, not a static part. To "slide" the slider, you'll always have to edit the part directly. Or, you could break up the part into the proper "parts" and create your own assembly that more directly mimics the real-world performance of the slider.
