Clarification of pyramid rung height

Is the height of the rungs on the pyramid measured from the top of the rung or the center of the rung?
Section 2.2.5 of the game manual specifies the height of the rungs but not what part of the rung is at that height. Our fabrication team has looked at the field drawings but is still trying to figure this out.

More than likely it is at the center of the rung because the rung is made out of 1 1/2" diameter pipe I think. I would refer to the offical usfirst forum.

The response from the FIRST Q&A system was

Please refer to Figure 2-7 and tolerances in Section 2.1 and FIELD assembly drawings.
2-7 and some of the assembly drawings look like they are measuring the rung height from the center of the rung.

Re: Clarification of pyramid rung height

My shoddy math skills applied to the field assembly drawings shows it to be about 30" at the top of the rung, relative to the tops of the four base plates, which are....how thick? a quarter inch?

This promises to be fun, folks!

Re: Clarification of pyramid rung height

The plate that sits directly on the floor (GE-13025-01), in Game Specific Drawings, is .12” thick. The leg of the pyramid mounts to the bracket (GE-13025-02) on top of the plate is 1.25” high. Did you measure the height of the rungs from the top of the plate on the floor or from where the leg mounts to the bracket?

One of the students on our team found an Inventor model of the pyramid showing the rungs at 30,60,90” on center but the height of the pyramid and some of the other dimensions were off from what the manual says. I will have to post a picture of the drawing later.

The inventor model shows the first two rungs at the correct height measured from the center of the rung but level 3 is short putting the entire pyramid 6.47” too short.

Isn't that because the base of the pyramid is too short? Shouldn't it be 94"?

Re: Clarification of pyramid rung height

I downloaded another model from the Autodesk FIRST site and it was different from the drawing I posted earlier. The height was correct but the width of the base was narrower than the last model.
Our team just sat down and looked at all the drawing, figure 2-7, and the Inventor models and came up with the following dimensions. The Rungs are at 30”, 60”, and 90” measured to the center line of the pipe, the width of the base is 94” as specified in the manual, and we calculated the other dimensions based on the field drawings.
