Robot in 3 Days : Completed Robot Video

Wow we made it! Just uploaded the Final unveil video of this crazy journey. I'm not gonna lie, I got a little emotional editing this video wrapping up the last few days. (And months really that we spent preparing for this)

In this video you will see all the systems in our bot, fully functioning under control. Including the climbing mechanism everyone has be chomping at the bit to see. Also the shooter making shot after shot, we found our sweet spot about 15' out. (You wont see Robby, he was back in the "real" world making flying cars.)

We hope that teams see these videos then go out and take what we have learned, apply it and make better, more competitive robots.

Big thanks to 1902 Exploding bacon who brought us their innovative 3-in-1 (could be 4-in-1) goal, which has high, medium goals and a loader station in one portable design (look for drawings some time soon, but you can figure it out)

Keep Calm and Robot on!

Awesome bot! I could see it ranking near the top at some regionals. I'm not sure your lifting mechanism is entirely legal, though, as the top of the claw partially occupies level 2, putting you in 3 levels at once.

It's only a problem if it touches the level 2 parts of the pyramid.

Quote:

A ROBOT has CLIMBED its PYRAMID if it contacts the PYRAMID and/or the floor (Level 0) in

sequential order (Level 0, 1, 2, 3) during ascent and
no more than two (2) Levels simultaneously.
Emphasis mine.

Air is not considered zones; literally touching the second bar is constituted zone 2. If just being over the first bar is zone 2, how does a team hang in zone 1?

it's legal because its not touching part of the pyramid that's in level 2. you can occupy as many levels as you choose at the same time but you can't contact the pyramid in more than 2 levels at once.

but yes amazing work guys.

You were reaching your fingers through the loading slot, which isn't allowed.

Beautiful robot for such a short time span! Especially enjoyed the part with cute baby. Hopefully teams can take what you learned to make their build seasons better.

One question, I know you shot frisbees upside down in an earlier video, but now that it's complete, did you shoot any of them at the goal upside down, if so was it successful or not?

Thanks for all your hard work! I'm sure many were inspired!

If I were Car Nack my first prediction would be that robot in 3 days would seed higher than 80% of teams at any given regional.

Nice work.

Awesome job! It was fun to follow this. I think this proved that teams that can shoot SHOULD have a decent accuracy in early season.

I feel privileged to have witnessed this. I consider this experiment a successful part of FIRST history, and a revolutionary idea on how professionals can inspire students across the globe.

What if in the future multiple groups of mentors from "Team 0000" started doing this, each picking a different aspect of that year's game to focus on?

Fantastic job on the robot. It wasn't just a robot in 3 days but a very capable one. When I saw it was a Frisbee you had to shoot, I thought this will be a challenge but you guys made it seem so easy.

This showed me why in our first two years of 1902 Exploding Bacon we made it to finals it was a privilege in working with you guys.

BTW was there any sleeping in the 72 hours?

That was amazing hope you do well. Have you thought about receiving from the top slot at the same time to minimize your feeding time.
