314 shooter prototype testing
This is video of our shooter as of January 14th. We are shooting the full 54ft of the field and the shooter is 21 inches off of the ground. The blue square on the wall is the height of the 3pt goal.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idiqASAt_Y0 And yes, everyone in the room had safety glasses on. ::safety:: From 27ft away from the wall we were accurate within a 6 inch circle. |
Re: 314 shooter prototype testing
Great job and thanks for the video! How does it do for battery life?

Re: 314 shooter prototype testing
We have been using 1 battery a day for testing. Its only one motor being powered but we are shooting on average 80 times on the same battery with no noticeable differences.

Re: 314 shooter prototype testing
Very impressive! Thanks for sharing!
What do you think is making your launcher perform so much better than some of the others? It seems like the same curved design - what's your gear ratio? |
Re: 314 shooter prototype testing
Wow, awesome prototype. What kind of wheel are you using?

Re: 314 shooter prototype testing
Direct drive off a cim?

Re: 314 shooter prototype testing
That shooter has some distance and height!
Check out my team's shooters; we are prototyping both a curved shooter and linear shooter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsaWp0URvN4 |
Re: 314 shooter prototype testing
Absolutely amazing. Any chance you'll reveal your magic to us? A picture of the shooter from the front? :yikes:

Re: 314 shooter prototype testing
The most I can say right now is that the wall for the shooter is made out of lexan.

Re: 314 shooter prototype testing
What kind of tread/wheel was used in that test?

Re: 314 shooter prototype testing
You guys would have to be crazy to give up this potentially massive advantage by releasing technical details.

It is an awesome achievement no doubt, but not a truly viable shot during matches. |
