Level 2 climber concept

We believe this to be a safe, repeatable, and easy to manufacture way to score 20 points on the tower. There may be ways to modify it for a 30 point climb, but we will start with this.

Spoiler for look hard:
We are not actually doing this

Seems very risky. Is it worth 20 extra points?

Re: Level 2 climber concept

Pull this off and any alliance would want you for style points...

Re: Level 2 climber concept

I feel like this isn't safe at all. If that initial bar hook slips (Which it may, consider the momentum of the bot) your bot is flying through the air. A landing from 3 feet will bend and break components. Slowly but surely may be a sure way to climb.

Style points are nice, but your robot breaking at your first regional isn't.

EDIT:: I've been duped!

Re: Level 2 climber concept

I don't think you'll be able to make a robot go fast enough to make it 180 degrees around the first bar.

Actually, with a standard 150lbs FRC robot I would be suprised if you lifted the robot up by more than a few inches.

Re: Level 2 climber concept

Clearly it's possible.

In all seriousness, we're not trying to tear you down, but simply help you realize that this is not a feasible theory for tower climbing.

We are not actually doing it lol, it was just funny possibility on incredibots. Maybe I should make the text a bit darker in the OP

I love white text. Do I see decagon wheels on your robot?

Re: Level 2 climber concept

Seems like it's not worth the risk. This is my cost-benefit analysis.
Benefits:
20 pts.
Style. (It WOULD be very cool)

Costs:
Lightweight in order to flip, which means
Sacrificing other functionality.

Potential Benefits:
Ummmmm.
Potential Costs:
Destruction of Robot.

To me, I feel like there's a simpler way to climb to the second level without risking the safety of your robot like that.

Perhaps an introduction into using the "spoiler" function is in order...I see the white now, but a non blind test isn't worth much :)
