Field Calc / Measurement Tool

Hello,

I have created a tool to aid in field calculations,so that it may be easier to figure out a strategy or design Frisbee shooter positions. I was hoping to get some feedback and release it for general use at the same time. Instructions are on the page.

Field Calc Tool

If I have posted in the wrong place, please let me know.

I like this, we have been doing this math in Solidworks but it's much easier with a simple applet. Thanks for posting this.

Where on the goals is it taking it's measurement from? The center face of the goal or somewhere else?

It is taking measurements from the point you define to the centers of the goals.

Center of the goals, as in depth as well?

Its a little bit inside...not an exact amount. I put them about 6-12 inches in.

I think the numbers would be more useful if it was at the face of the goal. That is what most people are aiming for, I think.

Thanks, I have updated the program to use the outside face of the goals. It is still centered.

So if I'm standing at the 27 foot center line on the field in front of a goal, it should say I have to shoot 27 feet? That's what I would assume most people would want because that makes sense as to where that dot is. Maybe I'm off here but that's how we have been doing things.

Height is also accounted for. The ground distance gives you the 27 feet, but the direct distance uses the height of the goal, so that distance is a little more.

Okay, it's working now. Thanks for putting this together we will be using fairly regularly.

Was something not working correctly? The only thing I changed was the goal positions.

Also, good to know it will be used.
