Team 314 shooting from half court 6 for 6

We brought our shooter closer to the goal to test how accurate we were from half court. We shot 6 discs and we made 6 discs. Technically we made 7 in a row but you only see the rebound on the first shot.

does it shoot the frisbee upside down?

We did try shooting the disc upside down and it did not work. It had no power and no height.

That is a very impressive frisbee shooter. Are team is having some problem getting the height at 50 feet. Do you have any hints or tip on what wheel or RPM.

We won't be releasing anything yet, stay posted on our YouTube channel for more information on our 2013 season and ideas. Thanks

Neat. Our team prototyped a curved wheel shooter, and we got some amazingly accurate results before we started to tune it. I have a theory that upside down frisbees won't be shot very well with a curved shooter, based on our results, but hopefully I can be proven wrong.

Are you controlling the speed or just running open loop ?

We are not controlling the speed at the moment. Just was an easy, simple, and cheap way to figure out what we want for our shooter.

OK thanks for answering. In the video, I can hear what appears to be a very large drop in speed as the frisbee passes thru, and a noticeable recovery time. If you decide to do speed control, it would be most interesting if you would post another video for comparison.

Our accuracy is close to perfect when aimed, in video we hit 6-6 easy. They are all within a foot of eachother except for maybe 1 out of 20 might sail a foot to the right, still scores though.

We will have more videos but the drop is not as bad as the sound seems lol. We can shoot about 1 every second from half court without a drop in accuracy.

Our shooter is able to launch a Frisbee a good 100ft, with little change in direction. I believe we were able to hit our target about 50% of the time, which is fairly decent for a prototype. :)

100 feet at the height of a goal? So are you hoping to score disks from newton on to currie? :)

Just a word of warning: "It'll work when we build the real one" is the most dangerous sentence uttered in build season.
