Digital Media Award
 

So the description for the new Digital Media Award sounds a little unclear. Are teams supposed to still create websites to show their content, or should they use existing websites like youtube, tumblr or twitter to get information out? It kanda seemed like they were implying that we should use existing websites to me, but I'm not sure, and I wanted to know what other people thought about it.

I'm kind of confused myself. I'm under the impression that it's just a branched out version of the prior Website Award. Either way, my team is still going to maintain the website and YouTube/Facebook pages like we always have.

I have a feeling that FIRST are going to release the award submission details after the 21st, because its only for championship. I was personally dissapointed that they removed the website award from the regionals, without a replacement.

Q414 says they are still working on it, and doesn't give a date.

It seems strange to withhold information on an award until so late - it seems the team that does win may just hit upon it by luck, having had limited time to prepare to specifically target the submission criteria.

Hopefully it stays open-ended because our media team has a neat idea for a submission.

One thing that we (Team 1625 - Winnovation) are doing is apps for our website. We currently have an android app and we are considering getting an app for apple products.

Are they judging all the criteria for the DMA at the Regional competitions as they have with the Website Excellence Award, or is the award only being judged at the Championship?

I am very confused...they say the Digital Media Award was replacing the Website Award and I have yet to see a date when that is due. But in the email they sent out today they say that the Website Award submission day is 2/21/13 @ 12 pm (noon) ET

So is that when the Digital Media Award is due? Or are they still having a Website Award this year as well? :confused:
