Bearings Falling off

Hey, is anyone else having this probel, the bearings given to us in our kit of parts, they keep sliping off the wheels when we put any sort of spining force on them.

We altered 2 oour wheels, and that would explain it, except that the ones we did not alter also slip off so we cant spin our wheels at all.

Any help would be useful. Thx!

When assembling the wheels to the axles, did you include the spacer sleves?

Did you make sure to use an arbor press or a wooden block + mallet to hammer the bearings in properly?

Along with the spacers, you really shouldn't encounter this problem. We have never had it happen, as far as I can remember.

If you do have an issue, please contact AndyMark and they can be of assistance to you, although if your alteration to the wheel is causing the problem, I would not expect a replacement. You never know though!

OK, thank you for the help, we ended up just making our own spacer, and we are pretty sure that the change to the wheel made it better, because those wheels have the bearings that fall off the least. anyway, after just spending 3 hours trying to make the correct size spacers, we have it all setup.

Also, the sleeves that they gave us were pretty soft, and when we tried to cut them, they crumpled like tinfoil, we just made some out of copper pipe.

Thanks for the help, and good luck

A few of the wheels we got the bearings dropped right into place, no press or deadblow and block needed, same with the plastic pulley halves. With spacers in place its not a big deal. just had to make sure none of them slipped out while putting them on the chassis and then have to undo the bolt and the spacers and start again. ::ouch::

Back when I was younger (2008) I remember having a similar issue with AL Hex stock (lathed into live axles) being slightly undersized and as a result slipping right through the AM performance wheels/hubs... Some PVC spacers did the trick.

For extra resilience, Some AL round stock can be drilled out and cut with a lathe to make some really nice spacers.

If you put a bolt in the spacer and clamp it to a vice and use a hacksaw it works just fine...and yes they are pretty soft but they work really well.
