Sending of the robot

Guys, as a first year team, we have a question that we don't know the answer to. What part of the robot are we allowed to NOT send off, i think previous years it was 20% that we were allowed to keep, right?

"Send off"? Are you referring to the withholding allowance?

Re: Sending of the robot

The withholding allowance is described in R22:
Quote:

R22:
Teams may bring a maximum of 30 lbs of FABRICATED ITEMS to each event to be used to repair and/or upgrade their ROBOT. The OPERATOR CONSOLE, BUMPERS, and any ROBOT battery assemblies (as described in R5-A) are exempt from this limit.
So, you may keep the operator console (laptop, joysticks, whatever you use for remotely operating your robot), robot bumpers, robot batteries, plus up to 30 pounds of robot items (things that you made for the robot).

I believe you can also bring replacement parts (things you buy off the shelf, and don't modify in any way) to the competition separate from the robot. But I can't find that in the rules at the moment.
