Looks very clean Rudy, I'll be inspecting at Alamo so I'll stop by and check it out in person.

Thanks Allen. The kids work hard CADing this design. Looking forward to seeing you there. |
Re: pic: 2013 Practice and Competition Chassis
Is the chain setup just for redundancy?

Yes, but the kids wanted to design it where it can hold up to anything that was thrown at it due to some chain breaks at championship last year in pushing matches. |
Re: pic: 2013 Practice and Competition Chassis
I might be mistaken, but if those are 1" hole spacings in the chassis, I think that frame might have a frame perimeter that is well over the 112" allowed this year.
(112" perimeter is 28"x28", and that robot appears to look bigger than that, but maybe it's shorter front-to-back than I think it is...) PS: I'm not trying to cause trouble, but rather hoping to help avoid problems if you have a robot frame that's too big. PPS: Reminds me of our 2007 season when my wife was measuring the robot for final bumper assembly 20 hours before ship and asked us all why the robot was 1.5" wider than allowed -- we all said that we designed the robot a half-inch undersized and that she must have measured wrong! 5 minutes later we were trying to figure out how we would be able to take 2" out of the middle of the robot! |
