I kinda doubt this... 3 550s in p60s as drive????
Or I guess all the CIMS are used for shooting/hanger but still....

I think that picture is near the top of my list for "World's least credible drivetrains". A three wheel killough already seems unlikely due to the complication, weird frame, and lack of pushing ability. Combine that with the idea of using easily toasted RS-550s in a stall-likely application, PLUS the incredibly popular* P60 gearboxes... Well. That would really be one of the all time worst drivetrains, really.

So what are the three P60s actually getting used for?

*Popular because you need to buy so many spare parts to keep them running through a season, of couse.

Does a shape with no corners need bumpers?

wait...how would you make them anyways?

There was an update covering a similar issue, namely the legality of frame perimeter segments <8" long. The reasoning was the the required 8" wraps around onto the adjacent segment, so short segments are legal as long as they're covered with a bumper.

I think applying that logic to a round frame would imply that you need the entire perimeter covered in bumper, as every point on the perimeter is a "corner".

Yes, it depends on how you define "corner". I'm assuming you define it as a change in direction of the perimeter. If you're insisting that it has to be a "sharp" step change in direction for it to count as a corner, then any robot could be bumperless by taking a belt sander and rounding the corners of their frame.

it was more of a joke. I guess the real question is how you bend the wood for that.

Wood tends to bend better if it's a bit damp. So, you steam up some plywood and bend away.

OK, maybe not quite so easy, but that's about how I'd do it.

You are correct, according to the GDC response to Q203 on the Q&A:

In the example of a circular FRAME PERIMETER, the entire FRAME PERIMETER would require BUMPERS.

I wonder why you guys felt you needed to use a holonomic drive base, or how you would find it beneficial.

Maybe they are trying to get to the loader, as quick as they can (and make the base as light as they can) so they went with that (which i personally would stay away from) then they either shoot a ton into the goals and/or grab there colored Frisbees. then move to the pyramid and use there 6 CIMs to do a 30 point climb and the 20 pts for the frisbees into the goal the "50 point super move"

or its not there drive

or maybe there "punkin" us...
