Wheel Restrictions

Hi:

Is there are there any restrictions on what kind of wheels you can use for a shooter. As long as the wheel does not destroy play pieces or prove dangerous.
Is it ok? Or is there a specific set of wheels we are supposed to use, like there are for motors.

Thanks,

Joe

Re: Wheel Restrictions

There are no rules that prohibit any particular wheels or require any particular wheels. Be sure to read the Robot section of the rules thoroughly to understand what the regulations on robot components are.

Good luck!

Re: Wheel Restrictions

Don't try to spin a traction wheel at 5000 rpm on a bushing, please :)

Make sure you're using properly rated ball bearings and a balanced assembly. Anything else is unsafe. Be cautious of traction wheel tread separation.

Do you have anything in mind? The 6" hi-traction KoP wheel is pretty good at launching discs when direct-driven from a CIM.
