Bumper, Bracket question
Hello,
We know how what the height and width of the bumper of the Robot should be. but the question is, if we use 2 brackets for each side of the Robot's bumper, without exceeding 8 or more inches of hangover, and we have 7 inches and 7 inches of bumper connected at a corner, does this count as really 14 inches of unbracketed bumper, making that illegal? Thank you, From team Ligerbots, 2877 |
Re: Bumper, Bracket question
I know on our team we keep the un-bracketed bumpers to a minimum. If you can, just secure them along the entirety of the robot, the rules about un-secured bumpers are there for a reason. If it is impossible to secure them along the length of the robot because of the robot's geometry, then this question is a good candidate for the FIRST Q & A.

Re: Bumper, Bracket question
Q&A often answers this with "we cant comment on a specific or non specific design"
A picture for us here would help. Do you have a drawing? |
Re: Bumper, Bracket question
"Supported" means support by the frame, not an actually attached. The requirement for attached is "rigid" for a "tight robust connection" Two good attachment points per bumper will get you there.
