Robot twitched and now is not responding
On Thursday we had a working robot and it was twitch when it was first enabled. We tried to fix this error by changing the safety to be a periodic task. Now, nothing is responding. We checked both batteries and recharged them thinking that may have been the problem but that is not it. It used to have a whine when it was enabled but that is gone now. We have very basic coding. The drive motors are CIMS and the launcher we have tried miniCIM, CIM, Window and gear motors but nothing is working. We have double checked all of the wiring and fixed one issue but still no response. We have tried to fix code but there are no errors. The victors (3 888's) all have flashing orange lights. The Jaguar is hard to tell if it's a yellow/green or an orange flashing light.
Rookie team here, I am the only mentor but it has been 5 years since I've even touched an FRC robot so any help would be fantastic. |
Re: Robot twitched and now is not responding
If you want to isolate code from electrical issues, you may want to try Test mode. Set the DS to test mode and enable it. See if the motors work correctly when you select a Output Value in the dashboard tab, set the speed, and enable.
If you are pretty sure it is code, consider posting a picture or the code. In particular, I'm not sure what safety in a periodic task may mean. Greg McKaskle |
Re: Robot twitched and now is not responding
When we do the test, the motors do not do anything, it's like we didn't change the values at all. It shows:
Victor[1,5] Analog[1,8] Jaguar [1,1] Jaguar [1,3] Jaguar [1,2] Jaguar [1,4] However, we have 3 Victors and 1 Jaguar - is this the error? Our programming computer does not have internet connection so it's hard for us to do screen shots, which is a huge pain. |
