Pumper noodle out of the wood backing

We have 2 wood backings of 8" which create a corner on the robot.
Now, we need to extend the noodle out of the wood backing in order to close the corner.

Like this:

Is that legal?
Thx

Re: Pumper noodle out of the wood backing

Per R24

Per R27

The middle image of the bottom row in R27 might interest you. You could cut a section of the pool noodle out where it comes in contact with the corner.

You are fine. The R27 picture cited is a picture of plywood, not noodle. Don't cut the noodles out of your corners or you will be putting them back in at competition.
