progressive compression

I know there are threads out here about how much compression to use but...have any of you experimented with progressive compression? This probably applies less to the straight shooters than it does to 90 degree shooters.
I was thinking that starting out with only .125 compression on entry to the wheel and ending with something like .500 inch of compression. Currently we are shooting pretty well with about .25 inch compression but want to experiment with our practice bot to see if we can make it better.
Thoughts??

On the straight shooter we prototyped we got better results with different compression on each wheel.
