Thanks for the response.

I was more referring to streaming (YouTube), however. Is this handled live or are you archiving to YouTube after the fact?

610 was amazing at the BAE GSR!
We played with them and against them.
It was funner being with them than against them, see semi-final matches one and two where we lost.

Our hats off to such a great team and a nice robot!

The YouTube videos are uploaded right after the match and take about 3-6 mins to upload depending on the bandwidth of the event.

We have not looked at doing the streaming because typically in Michigan Code Red has done that.

Just to let everyone know who's interested in the Orlando Regional at UCF.. there's an on demand system that will have matches posted on YouTube shortly after each match. It uses a combo of 9 different camera sources (one provided by NASA) to show every bit of action on the field.

The Orlando Regional Planning Committee is pleased to announce the Orlando Regional: On Demand. Matches at the Orlando Regional will be edited and upload to the following YouTube Channel within 30 minutes of match play.

Thank you to Team 1604 and 1065 for providing the equipment and staff to support this effort.

Here's 836 at Palmetto: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...nFbgBEG8UqpKSS

I'll have to add the videos from the elimination matches to this list after work today, but they'll be accessible in the channel.

Re: Match Videos

I would be interested in knowing whether or not we can tap into the FMS video feed; for both live video and archiving purposes.

I would like some kind of access to play the live feed in say "our pit" because in the Palmetto Regional this year, the feed was only shown on the big screen on the audience side of the field while current rankings on the pit's big screen. (We previously attended the VCU regional and they played it on both and had flat screen tv's to show the scores)

Also what kind of equipment/software would be needed to overlay the real-time score on your video feed?

Re: Match Videos

If you talk to the event coordinator or the AV crew they should be able to set you up with a location to hook into for the feed. I have used and still use a DVD recorder, and a pinnacle video capture device (no longer in production). There are many many threads on here discussing capture devices. Some people use a USB device connected to a computer record the whole thing then go back and split it. Some sit a body at the computer and start/stop each match when recording.

As to the playing a feed in the pits, that would require permission to either a) run a feed cable (unlikely) or b) connect a laptop/phone to a TV via wireless (wifi if the venue has it or 3g/4g for phone) and stream it if someone else already has the stream setup.
