1114 2056 67 (SO MUCH THIS ONE) 148 254 33 (In action) 118 (In action) 2826 548 987 1477 228 1902 (Oh wait...) All non mentioned teams at the Orlando regional. Can't wait to see what week two has in store for us, 610 was a fantastic surprise and I hope there are more like it that blow us all away! |
Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots
Personally, I'm a 2056 fan. 192's usually got something interesting in store as well. Team 33 did a reveal video but I don't think they revealed everything. Last year, 548 fell through the crack for a few weeks, but they're on my list now. It might just be a local thing, but I'm interested in 525's performance up North. 2177 is also going to be debuting their 30 point climb at Lake Superior, and it'll be interesting to see how it scores up against all the shooting we saw this week.

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots
Since I am attending Northern Lights, I will be looking forward to competing with teams 27, 525, 2826. They have been very strong competetors in the past against us but this year is a big difference. In some previews of their robots think it really did level the playing field. Unless team 27 is holding something up their sleeve, as i have only seen a wheel and gear box for them.

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots
There are plenty of robots to look out for in week 2.
The best will probably be: 67, 118, 148, 233, 254, 987, 1114, 2056, 2826 Others to look out for: 27, 33, 51, 177, 180, 188, 548, 1718, 2137 Obviously there are others, but those are the teams that I expect will be the most competitive. |

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots
I'm just excited to watch Waterford and Lone Star in general. Both are pretty loaded with great teams. Lone Star should be one of the best competitions this year, in my opinion. What we see there should be a "Championship Preview", if I may be so bold. I think I can be, my prediction history isn't too shabby (I predicted a Frisbee game back in December, among other things :D).

2) Everyone is overlooking 494. 70 and 494 signed up at different districts. Perhaps they even have different robots...but if not, 70 did just win Kettering, just saying. 3) 2834 puts out an awesome bot every year, better look out for the 2009 rookie season teams. 4) At least you guys don't have to go to Troy... Edit: How could I forget 2011 Waterford Champions 3539 The Byting Bulldogs? Yeah, I really am terrified of Waterford. |

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots
Well, there won't be that many "heavy hitters" at NYC this year so I honestly think we (334) have a good chance this year.
Not to mention I think we have a solid robot this year. |
Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots
All of them!

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots
2512 seems to be the best full court shooter, and 2169 is close too. They have top-slot-fed shooters with a very high exit to get over most defense, and 2512 also brought a floor pickup. It's not going to be a 5-minute change to get a folding wall up, which will make them very potent. 2512 also seems to have very high accuracy.

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots
Well, I'm flattered our team is mentioned several times. However, we've struggled more this year than we ever have. In fact, we fired our first frisbee from our robot. Yesterday :( .
I'd watch out for 3539. Those guys were over at our practice facility a couple times, and I'm very jealous of what they've come up with. The Bulldogs were among the most accurate shooters last year in Michigan, but got repeatedly denied because of some electrical/cRIO problems and the fact that they were a long bot. This year, I expect big things from them. |

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots
Yes Tom, I agree, it is very humbling when you see your team mentioned among what I consider many of the elite teams in the state if not the world.
It is a very competitive district, and we too have some work to do out of the bag, but we plan on being competitive. . . Just a few more days, and the cat, albeit, RoboCat is out of the bag! See you there. Scott McBride Electrical/Programming Mentor TORC 2137 - The Oxford RoboCats PS. I also saw the Bulldogs, and I agree. Also I don't believe for a minuet that Buzz is too afraid to climb... :) |

I'm looking at Waterford for most of my anticipated robots this week; 33, 51, 67, 308, 494, 503, 548, 573, 1718, 2137, 2834, 2851, and 3539. I might just have to drop in on Saturday to see some of them in person :D There's also 830, 2054, and 2767 over at Gull Lake that'll I'll be keeping an eye on. |

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots
I just want to take a moment to congratulate team 1718 on their first competition win ever!
From what I understand, it was a very difficult build season for them, and they went into bag with doubts about their robot, but it was the most unique and effective robot at Waterford this year. Seriously, it was about time this team won a competition. I can't think of anyone who deserved this more. Congratulations guys. See you at states! |
