Starting in a climbing position

Hi guys, we built a robot which is able to climb from the top however getting on to the first rung is the toughest part. Does anyone know if you are allowed to support any weight on the pyramid at the beginning, or lean against the first rung. The rules say that the robot must be fully supported by the floor, but does this mean all the weight of the robot?

Yes, that's what it means. "Fully supported by the floor" can only mean "not supported by anything else".

Q&A #151 is the pertinent ruling here, if you're looking for official confirmation

A. The ROBOT is considered touching the PYRAMID if any part of the ROBOT is touching the PYRAMID. If the string is supported by the PYRAMID, then the ROBOT would not be fully supported by the floor, which would be a violation of [G05]-C.
