This email went out to teams this weekend:

We're excited to see you all this coming Friday and Saturday for the 2013 Texas Robot Roundup! We have lots of great things planned. Before you all head to Austin, I want to get you some important details.

Attached Documents:
Attached you will find a Load In Map, Event Map, Pit Map, Area Map (of local businesses), and the Team List. Please review all these. We'll have extra copies for you at the event as necessary.

Check-In Process:
  • When you arrive, please send an adult representative to the Check-In Table (Pit Administration) in the Lobby Area on BOTH Friday and Saturday.
  • You will sign in and get a packet of important information.
  • If you have collected canned goods, you will be directed to the drop off location (you are advised to wait to bring them in until you know where to take them.
  • If you arrive on Friday, you will be asked if you want to participate in the Skills Challenge and the Mentor Tournament happening later that day.
  • On Saturday morning, teams will the Awards Ballot (mandatory) and Mentor Award Nomination Form (optional). Your team MUST fill out and turn it the Awards Ballot to Pit Admin by the beginning of Final matches in order to qualify for awards.

Competition Details:
  • Friday is an optional practice day. Depending on the number of teams present, we will likely do first come, first serve matches.
  • Alliance selections: Alliances will consist of 4 teams. Picking order goes 1-8, 8-1, 8-1. The alliance captain decides which teams play. All alliance teams DO NOT have to play.
  • All other typical qualification and finals match Ultimate Ascent game rules apply. The referees will make calls at their discretion.
  • We are implementing a very organized procedure of verifying disc counts.
  • There are 42 teams attending TRR 2013. Teams will get 7 qualifying matches. If your team now cannot make it to TRR 2013, PLEASE let me know as soon as possible.
  • Please see previous emails for details on the Mentor Tournament and Skills Challenge.

Friday Team Social and Cookout Order Option:
The Team Social will have cake, music, and games. We're putting together a Texas grill-out for teams. For $5, you get a burger (veggie option available) or hotdog and a drink. Any money left over from covering food costs will go into the new "TRR Teams in Need Fund" for teams who need help covering entry fee and travel costs for future TRRs. Saturday Lunch Order Option:
To make things easier for your team, we're offering the option of ordering pizzas for lunch on Saturday. Details available in the form. Fill out this form by Friday at 2pm if interested: http://goo.gl/5Mmjd

Saturday Mentor Breakfast:
Mentors, when you arrive on Saturday morning, we'll have a room set up with coffee and breakfast treats for you to help get you started on a very early, busy day! Enjoy. :)

We're getting in touch with all the teams who didn't show up to practice day. Once we know that we have the final lineup, we'll try to get it posted. That will likely be early tomorrow morning.

TRR was a great experience for us again this year. I know that the AC thing was a pain but it really didnt spoil the awesome time we had. I am proud to say that I am associated with you and the the whole crew at TRR.

Thank you so much for putting together this event. I know the amount of effort to pull off an event like this is staggering. Incredible job! Please sign 3310 up to help in any way we can next year.

BTW, I loved the MC's on both Friday and Saturday. They were super nice, knowledgeable, fun, light, and fast. Truly had a fantastic time! THANKS!
