Building a solar car

I know this isn't robotics related, but a couple members on my team and I was wondering if there are any engineers out there willing to help me out with mentoring a couple high school students. Apparently electrical schematics for building a car are relatively simple but I don't know where to start.

Where is diamond bar? I did solar car in college, and would be willing to have a few discussions.
