Homestuck/Nerd Get-Together at the Alamo Regional??
 

Hey there dudes! Me and a couple of my team members were thinking that since so many of us FIRST kids are nerds interested in things such as Homestuck, Star Wars, Sherlock, MLP, Adventure Time, etc.. that it would be really cool if for a day or two at the Alamo regional if interested members from other teams dressed up as characters from our nerdy movies, comics, tv shows, etc, and had fun in the stands as brothers in geekiness. :)
The idea we came up with is that we dress up as though we were in an alternate universe where these characters were part of a robotics team XD, that way you would still be in your team uniforms, just with notable parts of your overall outfits showing you are that character. For example, a Homestuck troll would wear their team's shirt, but have on horns and paint their skin grey.
We originally thought it would be really cool if it just Homestuck, but then we got to thinking, we are all nerds here, with a wide variety of nerdy interests, so it shouldn't be one-fandom-centric, though we hope to meet some other trolls if there any other Homestucks out there. ^^
So yeah- why don't we all have fun rooting other teams on in the stands as our favorite characters? I think it'd be a great way to meet friends interested in the same things as you are, FIRST is like one giant family of people with similar interests after all!
If anybody has any ideas on what day/days we should try and do this on, and some extra ideas on what we should do together, or maybe some rules people should keep in mind, please respond! (I figured I would keep out the basic costume rules out for now until I saw that a lot of people were up and ready to do this, but keeping things safe should be discussed!)

Our team 3997 is hosting a robot fiesta that im sure our kids would love to dress up with you.

That'd be great! Please try and get some of them on here so we can exchange ideas and talk about it~
We were thinking about Thursday and Saturday to do this on, or maybe just one of the two, though we'd like to know what days work for others as well! :D

Metal Jackets representative here! :D Don't know about any of the shows/movies you mentioned, but I do know that my team is basically a Walking Dead fan club, lol. Any fans on your team by any chance?

Yes we do have Walking Dead fans! Though I don't think anybody intends to dress up as one of the characters from our team it'd be most thoroughly awesome to see some of your team come as characters!
