New York Rankings
Just to avoid confusion I'll include this at the top. The rankings and points reflected below have been normalized by dividing total points by events played to make it easy to compare teams who have played a different number of events. Scroll down a few posts for a list including total points.
I figured I might as well join the posting of rankings based on the FiM points system, this time for New York State. A few things of note: -I have more data, including the breakdown of which points came from wins, rankings, etc., as well as which competitions teams earned points at, but I didn't want to clutter this post. If you want to know more about how a team earned its points, just ask. -For teams that competed once, points are for that competition. For teams that have competed twice, points are an average of the two. -Most teams have only competed once, and most compete for a second time at Buckeye this week or Long Island next week. -Some have not competed at all, they are shown with 0 points. -All data was calculated by me by hand, so there are probably mistakes. -I did not calculate tiebreakers, so rankings for teams with the same amount of points is arbitrary. -If you have any questions, feel free to ask away. Re: New York Rankings
I see one difference. In FiM, RAS receives no points. However, in MAR, the RAS receives 5 points. Other than that, I don't know of any differences.

Re: New York Rankings
Final Update (maybe):
I tried to do something fancy and normalize the results to make the most fair comparison possible. I did two things differently for this one. First, I attempted to normalize points for wins based on matches played, assuming each team would play 12 qualification matches per district event. For each regional, I took the number of matches played, n, and multiplied points from wins by 12/n. This was to correct for the fact that teams played anywhere from 9 to 12 qualification matches per regional. The other thing I did was to double the points for teams that only competed once in order to better compare them to the teams that competed twice. Code:
