2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
Hello everyone.
We will be broadcasting at Alamo. Somehow a few links got posted while the site was still more template than useful info, but I assure you it is finished now and you can go directly to http://www.roll24productions.com/alamoregional to select which level of competition you would like to watch the webcast or recorded matches for. We are excited to be working at a big FIRST regional, and hope we can provide everyone with a high quality stream. We will be streaming FRC, FTC, and FLL Thursday through Saturday and recording matches and posting them to youtube throughout the competition. We will also have several of the most knowledgeable commentators I have ever seen discussing competition in between matches on the FRC stream. -Edward -The DiscoBots -Roll 24 Productions |
Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
Thank you!
Between match commentary sounds awesome! I know that sometimes when we send out the webstream link people back home get confused about penalties, rules, etc. so that'll definitely be helpful! Discobots RULE! |
Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
I don't know who was doing the Lone Star webcast, but I'm told the match commentary was pretty annoying. Largely because it was happening during the match, so the commentators were trying to talk over the excellent Tim Rosas. If the commentary happens between matches, that's probably perfectly fine and useful.

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
Looks like a very nicely produced website. The archiving did not seem to be available for all regionals and we will really appreciate the ability to review matches on the spot. I would agree with Kevin that commentary during the matches is not really necessary, as there is a match to watch.

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
I agree with Kevin.
Waterloo had Mike and Justin talk between matches (and not for all the matches). That seemed to work just fine. There's plenty of deadspace there for ads, analyzing, and color commentary. The match time should be reserved for live commentary. |

I should be in Friday morning and I'd like to help out with anything with the webcast when I'm not working with Andy and the DiscoBots.

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
Is it gonna have sound?
|
Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
There will be sound, No music, just field sounds, Announcer and field mics, and the commentator mics.

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
The qualification match videos are up now, on Justin.TV, we are working on transporting them to youtube for easier viewing, but for now, if you know the match number you are looking for, you can go to
http://www.justin.tv/roll24productions/videos to watch matches from yesterday. Anything else you liked or didn't like from yesterday? we aim to please so if you have a suggestion for today, throw it our way. Thanks, Edward |
Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
Nice job guys. Are you planning to post the rest of the matches? I am willing to see my team in action at match 86 and in the quarter finals. Anyway, awesome job, the video displayed after the winner of the RCA was announced was epic.

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
Aww, these videos won't play for some reason... not sure if it's my computer or the website or something. :(

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
What happened to the elimination matches on Roll24Productions channel on Justin.tv?
Are they being archived elsewhere? Thanks, Norman |
Re: 2013 Alamo Regional Webcast
Hey everyone,
Just want to reassure you all that we are working on getting matches posted. We were using lots of new equipment to manage our video at this event, and had more than a few issues. Someone pulled the ethernet connection to one of our machines, which should have only effected the live stream, but caused the encoder to crash and corrupted all of our recordings also. We did rip all of the matches from saturday before Justin took them down, and they should be available on youtube very very soon, hopefully tonight. Thanks for your support!, sorry for the delays |
