The practice field is shared with team 20 I'm fairly positive they would be the source. Or another local team.

Team 2791 was formed in 2009. This picture is from this weekend and was taken at a shared practice field facility with local teams in the area. Many past robots from teams 20 and 1493 reside at the practice facility and some of them carry old game pieces with them as cargo. The white tube is from Logomotion, but the 1997 robot is at the practice facility as well.

The real takeaway here is that those game pieces are older than some freshmen on FRC teams :ahh: .

I believe there are 2-3 more floppies at the field along with a few 2006 poof balls, a 2008 track ball, and a few other goodies.

The great thing is at the Technokat's shop we have at least 4-5 floppies, some original sterilite tubs, a couple of tetras, a bag of aim high poof balls, a bin of unused rack n roll tubes, 1.5 trackballs, a christmas tree 5 feet by 6 feet made of orbit balls, ~5 logomotion tubes intact, 15 rebound rumble balls, and 15 frisbees. The only cool game piece we lack are corn and tennis balls :)

Story?

449 has a big bag of unused poofballs. By big I mean 20-30 still in the bag.

EricH was right on with the game pieces. Not shown are two frisbees loaded into the robot to prevent our automated hopper from running. I was thinking of wrapping the whole robot in an Overdrive trackball, but then you wouldn't be able to see all the other cool game pieces.

As Akash pointed out, we do share use of a practice field with 20 at the RPI Tech Park. We practiced together this Saturday so that 20 could prepare for the Championship. Between our Colson drive and our tall arm to block their shots up close we could play strong defense on 20. However, we needed some padding. Since 20 keeps almost all of their robots on display at the field, we just grabbed some game pieces straight out of their 1999 hopper and taped them on. The Logomotion circle took most of the hits.

2006 was my first year in the FIRST family of programs, on an FVC team in Wisconsin. 2791 started in Latham, NY in 2009. How I got from there to here is a long story.

I'm reasonably sure there are still poofballs lodged in random crevices of the vocational school we worked out of from late night night dodgeball shenanigans.

The floppies are also now as old as the freshman! :ahh:

We shouldn't tell them we've been practicing with defense

The bin in the background appears like it could be a 2003 game piece.

And of course, the 2014 game piece in the background, the traffic barrels.

Two of the '03 bins, possibly. Though I don't remember them being that dark, that could just be the viewer. Could also be a couple of KOP bins.

Doubtful that those would be FIRST related. The building serves as both a place for us to have a year round practice field and a storage space for lots of people we don't know. We were unable to host a publicly attended week 0 "event" this year because of a large pile of Solar panels that were stored where the pits would normally be. Most of these solar panels have since relocated and we are hoping to host an event of sorts for the public in May!

That robot looks like it could use some corn as ballast.
