2791 really picked up their game at WPI. Although 2168's killer defense defeated 2791 in finals (along with every other team), I thought that 2791 deserved a spot at CMP. (I'm biased, but 177 also)

Highest peak performance without a win in 2013? Definitely the HOT team, hands down.

Most consistently good without a win in 2013? Either 1310 or 624, in my book.

From CA,

971 had a great robot with 7 disc auto (Finalist at Sac and Quarterfinalist at SVR)

3970 was an excellent cycler with a zippy drivtrain that flew over discs. (Finalist at CVR as 1st pick)

330 has a great robot, 5-7 disc auto, sub 30" robot that could block at almost 84". (Semifinalist at LA against winner and Quarterfinalist at LV against winner)

599 sub 30 full court shooter and cycler, made a habbit out of the buzzer beater climber. (Quarterfinalist at SD against winner and Finalist at LA)

294 had great defensive abilities with their intake, and weren't bad at shootin either. (Quarterfinalist at CVR and LA, both times against Finalist)(previous 2 time world champs)

From my neck of the woods, I'd say 3928, 2826, and 1625 (in no particular order)

1662. First seed at the Sacramento regional. Excellent and zippy drivetrain. Fast feeder. Good ground pickup for 5 disc autonomous. Quick ten point hang.

624: The robot from Texas should definitely be at championships this year and were a very good robot this year with an good team to match.

1625: Although things were rocky at there first regional they pulled themselves together at Midwest to make it to a regional finalist.

3928: This robot absolutely surprised me at Kansas City Regional with an great 7 disk and wonderful students.

67: Well Hot is looking very good for championships with lots of different problems plaguing them this season they still made it to MSC Finals and Troy Finals. 67 is an great team who can pull themselves from the clutches of defeat.

3528: Upnext is a very good team whom is coming through the ranks and becoming an Kansas/Missouri powerhouse with an very accurate 5 disk and good ground game they built an really good robot this year with all the fixings.

971: When I first saw this robot I was like That is by far one of the coolest looking intakes I have seen. They are an great Floor pickup robot.

2826: Wave has an incredible cycler robot with an 5 disk to match. Basically playing 111 alone after there climb and dump was TKO but they kept up in points. This robot has made "waves" (see what I did there:yikes: )

Those are all I can think of currently. Personally 624 which we are close friends with is the general winner. /thread

3974 from MAR was one of the best robots to not have a win. Finalists in both their district events (lost to daisy both times), then had issues at MAR. Solid reliable auton, very fast cycles, and dependable 10 point hang. Really wish they had gotten to St Louis...

Regional bias, but 3928 had one heck of a showing at both their competitions. Having personally seen them at Greater Kansas City, all I can say is WOW . Their team single handedly matched Titanium point for point and probably scared the bejeesus out of them when Neutrino unveiled a 7 disc auto. All that coming from a 2nd year team.

This year, however, has been great for teams that are the best to go without a regional win. The wild card system is the best for those teams that are "always a maid, never a bride."

From the northeast I'd say 2791, Shaker Robotics- 1st seed and finalist at WPI with us, and if they hadn't jammed like they did (or any of the other issues plaguing our alliance didn't happen) they would have punched a ticket to CMP right there.
Also 177, Bobcats. Fierce competitors with a fantastic robot at both WPI and Connecticut. They showed off a decent full court shot at CT, and their cycling at WPI was also good. It's a shame their 30-point climber was never working, because that could have won them some matches.
Also at CT, Gus Robotics, 228, was a great and FAST cycling machine.
Same with 2067, who had gotten their 5-disc auto working as well as their good cycling game by CT.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. We were pretty disappointed when we had those mechanical problems at MAR. (Every match we thought we fixed it, something new popped up. Unbalanced shooter wheel, broken bracket used to mount the wheel, wrong speed programmed into the new, larger motor.) Losing 2-1 in two district finals loomed larger than we though it would.

But I think we're battle-tested now and ready to roll into our third season with lots of confidence! And we'll be watching the webcast and looking for our friends from MAR: 2590, 2729, 341, 1676, 316, and the others... not to mention Chairman's winners 433 and 1218 and rookie sensation 4637.

I want to take this opportunity to wish all the MAR teams best of luck this week!

Regional biasing maybe, but I can't believe no one has mentioned 2415. Their cRIO problems really plagued them, but they have a 7 disc auto and their shooting accuracy is phenomenal. Their championship performance so far is also a good indicator of a strong team that has yet to win an event.

Definitely going to 2nd this. 2415 is doing incredibly well at champs, it is clear that cRIO issues were the reason they didn't earn a win so far this season.

Honestly, I think that's selling the 79/379/383 alliance that beat them in DC short. 2415 is truly awesome, but I can't say that the #2 alliance would have beaten the #5 alliance in DC with 100% confidence. That #5 alliance packed one heck of a wallop, and all three teams were playing their best at the right time.
