3d Printing in Robotics

On 422, we are considering our options for expanding our machining capability. Did you use a 3d printer this year for parts for your robot? If so, could you give any relevant details about what parts were made, what printer, what material, etc? Talking to the people at the makergear booth and feeling the parts that they had made really emphasized for me that most teams designed for the machining they had: at one point in our season we spent multiple days on a mill making an irregularly shaped part out of a solid block of aluminum that could've been CAD'd and printed in a matter of minutes. Another question I have is about the QU-BD R.P.M. It looks extraordinary to me, but I am sure that someone here can provide a more informed opinion.
