Extra Trophies -- What does your team do with them?
 

Folks:

We receive 2 team trophies whenever we win something at a competiton. One of them goes in the trophy case at the school. I'm sure that is fairly common.

What do you do with the other one? -- Present it to a sponsor? Give it to a student who is graduating that year? Let it collect dust in some corner?

We are currently in the "collecting dust" camp, but, would like some ideas of what other teams are doing.

I believe 2075 gives them to GE, the major sponsor.

4392, I believe has given them to JCPenny.

Not 100% sure but u am pretty sure that's what they do.

We have one to bring to competitions and demos and such, and one to stay in the trophy case at school.

We give the extras to our main sponsor Price Engineering and/or GE

All of our sponsor trophies are in trophy cases on display at the National Packard Museum in Warren, alongside several of our robots.

One trophy goes to the high school (or schools, in some years), one trophy goes to the sponsor.

one in the trophy one in the shop that travels with us to comp, we are hoping to build some type of a robot display in the school which would become the new home for one of the trophies

Some go to mentors who contributed the most to earning the award and some go to sponsors.

Ours "go to our sponsor"... in other words, they're sitting in a box on my desk, as the display case we were supposed to get 7 years ago still hasn't even been ordered!

Ours goes into the trophy case and the second ones goes into the team display. The kids have claimed it as their own and decorated it as such. We have our scrapbooks in it, trophies, 2 robots, and important information posted to the glass.

They go to our sponsors, meaning after we didn't have a trophy case at work we each had one our desk.

Usually a team captain or graduating student will get one.

You could always just stick them both in a trophy case together, that way to a passerby who isn't really reading the awards (I know I never read trophies and I doubt I'm the only one) it looks like you won twice as much.

Our build space is inside Motorola and the field construction team has made a shelf all around the room that display all of the sponsor trophies and all of the pit awards we have ever received. We are also in the process of hanging team T-shirts from every year we have been around and a few from other teams. It has been difficult when we have had to move within Motorola. This space is the sixth or seventh build space in three vastly spread buildings that Motorola owns or owned. Our current build space is less than 10 feet from the original closet we had in 1996 but is now big enough for a full size field.

My team is from 2 high schools, so one trophy for each school
