Team 2485's Sun Tzu: Frisbee Trail

The W.A.R.Lords (unfortunately I couldn't make it), along with an AP Photo student from our school recently took these photographs showing the path taken by our discs. What I surmise they did is set up a camera with a very long exposure on a tripod in the gym, load some glowing discs, and let fly :D The results are, frankly, awesome. In a literal sense, as in awe-inspiring. Enjoy!

Wow those are some really cool photos! I'd really like to try this out with our robot but where can I get those glowing discs?

As I said, I wasn't there, so I'm not sure :( If I had to guess, I'd be willing to bet they're available online...

You know this might actually be useful from a gameplay perspective too, if you had some glowing reference points at known distances, you could track the arc and distribution of your shots. Could be useful for tuning a FCS?

In any case, the photos are gorgeous! :D

We actually took the normal white FRC disks and lined the inside with an amber led strip.

The issue is that the frisbee weighs much more than a normal frisbee because of the addition of the led strip and 4 AA batteries. Maybe this could work with a glow in the dark frisbee though!
