Re: 2013 Dream Matchup

Thanks to everyone who put 610 in their choices but we aren't that exciting :p. My dream match-up would be 254, 469, and 1114 vs. 67, 987, and 2056.

Aside: Writing this post and being forced to choose between my favorite robots made me realize how many AWESOME teams are out there!

My dream match up would be 67, 254, and 469 vs 1114, 1986, and 33. Both alliances have a 7 disc auto + center line auto, 1 30 point corner climber + 20 point dump, 1 30 point inside climber, sweeping the floor, and lots and lots of cycling.

The only thing I might change would be swapping 33 out for another robot with a wicked floor pickup and center line auto which could shoot full court. If these two alliances went against each other I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a disc left on the field.

I believe you're looking for 987.

Pretty sure I have seen one of those around;)

Anything with 987 and 2056, highest OPR in the world against the highest rank robot in the world. Also a bunch of 30 point climbers for added entertainment value.

987-254-1986 vs 2056-1114-67

A subtle variation of previous mentioned team, mine would be 987-254-67 versus 469-1986-1114.

Both alliances are capable of 90 points in autonomous. Both can have up to70 point in climbing and a 20 point dump. Both have a FCS though I would pick 67 over 469 in that category. Regardless, both alliances could cycle pretty quick with alliance 2 having the edge in that category. I could see both alliances breaking 300 points.

118-254-233 vs 1114-2056-1310
NASA alliance against Canada.

I would switch 1114 and 1986 since two internal climbs probably wouldn't work together and both alliances would then have the 50 point climb and dump. 2056, 1114, and 67 together have the potential for the highest possible score in Ultimate Ascent whereas 987, 254, and 1986 don't due to the double internal climb and no dumpers.

But then it would no longer be NASA vs. Canada.

Wouldn't it be great to see NASA vs IFI?
118, 233, 254 vs 148, 1114, 217?

Re: 2013 Dream Matchup

254, 1114, 67

-13 disks in auto (78 points)
-Most likely score all (if not most) feeder station disks (135 points)
-90 climbing points
-30 points from pyramid goal dumps

Total match score: about 315-333

Trade 2056 for 254, who has a 7 disk and 30 point climb.

If 254 and 1986 could climb together somehow, trade 1114 or 67 for 1986. 1986 has a wing auto, which scores 12 points. The second dumper only scores 10 points.

Trade 217 for 1477, much better matchup.

Sure, thats why I had a question mark for 217. I didn't know any other teams sponsored by IFI.

Re: 2013 Dream Matchup

I think the best match up would have both alliances have A) pure full court shooter with some climbing B) great cycler/pickup with 30 climb C) a pickup bot that can also shoot full court

This would lead to the matchup of

Blue: A) 1806 B) 1114 C) 469 Vs. Red: A) 148 B) 254 C) 987

In autonomous, blue will score 13 discs and red will score 13 or 15 discs depending on whether 1806 or 1114 can stop red from getting the center discs.

This way, on the blue alliance, 1806 will shoot all of the discs besides 12 white and 4 blue for 1114. 469 will pickup all the missed discs in front of the opponents goal and score them before picking up the missed discs from 1806. Then they all will climb.

On the red alliance, 148 will shoot all of the discs from their feeder station with the help of 987. Meanwhile, 254 will pick up all the discs from their opponents side and score them into the goal and then score the missed discs from 148. After shooting some full court, 987 will pickup from the floor all that it can and climb. 148 will climb first and be stopped before 254 climbs with just a few seconds left, that way they can both fit.

This is what think the best matchup would be and I would really like to see this at IRI and I feel that with some luck they could almost happen with both full court shooters being selected 3rd.
