2013 Dream Matchup
I haven't seen one of these threads yet for 2013, so I guess I'll start it. What is your dream matchup of six robots for Ultimate Ascent?
Mine: 67, 2056, 3476 vs 469, 610, 1114 |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
254-1310-67 vs 1986-469-1114
Both alliances have 2 7 disk autos, both also have centreline autos (that'll be fun), both have two 30 point climbers, and both have a 20 point dump. |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
254-148-987 v. 469-67-1986
Both alliances have the ability to go double full court, both have 9-disc autos (but 987 gets the center discs, giving them a 12 point advantage), both have an inside and outside climb, but 148's is only for 20, so the 67 alliance gets a 10-point advantage. I don't know who would win this. This would be freakin' amazing. |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
1114-2056-1334 vs. 33-1986-67
or 254-1986-1114 vs. 33-469-1538 |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Greater Toronto Vs. Greater Kansas City
2056-1114-610 vs. 1986-1806-3528 Alliance OPRs based on Champs: 205-188 Most likely both alliance drain their feeder station, and then it comes down to teams either stealing missed shots of their opponents, or climbing/denying climbs. Which greater is greater? |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
FIM vs. Canada
33, 67, 469 vs 1114, 1310, 2056 (or swap 1310 for 610). |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Personally I would love to see 1986-987-1114 vs 254-2056-67.
Both alliances have: - 7 disk autons - Full court shooters - Multiple robots that can climb to 30 - A robot that can dump for 20 and of course all of them are extremely good cyclers. |

Although both of them scaling the pyramid together would be worth the price of admission. Will this happen at IRI? The center of gravity of these alliances appears to be somewhere near the Great Lakes. :) |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Quote:
And the COG I think would be more Southwest- due to 148-TX, 254-CA, 987- Vegas. Somewhere around Nebraska or Kansas. |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
3467, 254, 2056 vs. 1114, 67,195
|
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Quote:
That WOULD be a cool match to watch, but one side would end up with no floor pickup, and the other side with a wasted 30 pt. climb. We could see that in Quals at IRI, but not likely in elims. |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup

3467, 67, 2056 vs 254, 1114, 469 Each alliance has: two 30 point climbers (and all sub 15 secs), one 4 disc dump, one full court shooter, one extremely fast ground pickup + floor sweeper, and one 7 disc autonomous (one alliance also gets a centerline auto). |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Six robots no one has ever heard of playing the finals on Einstein field.
That's my dream matchup. |

Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Thanks to everyone who put 610 in their choices but we aren't that exciting :p. My dream match-up would be 254, 469, and 1114 vs. 67, 987, and 2056.
Aside: Writing this post and being forced to choose between my favorite robots made me realize how many AWESOME teams are out there! |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
My dream match up would be 67, 254, and 469 vs 1114, 1986, and 33. Both alliances have a 7 disc auto + center line auto, 1 30 point corner climber + 20 point dump, 1 30 point inside climber, sweeping the floor, and lots and lots of cycling.
The only thing I might change would be swapping 33 out for another robot with a wicked floor pickup and center line auto which could shoot full court. If these two alliances went against each other I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a disc left on the field. |

Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Anything with 987 and 2056, highest OPR in the world against the highest rank robot in the world. Also a bunch of 30 point climbers for added entertainment value.

Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
A subtle variation of previous mentioned team, mine would be 987-254-67 versus 469-1986-1114.
Both alliances are capable of 90 points in autonomous. Both can have up to70 point in climbing and a 20 point dump. Both have a FCS though I would pick 67 over 469 in that category. Regardless, both alliances could cycle pretty quick with alliance 2 having the edge in that category. I could see both alliances breaking 300 points. |

Six rookies. On Einstein.

Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
254, 1114, 67
-13 disks in auto (78 points) -Most likely score all (if not most) feeder station disks (135 points) -90 climbing points -30 points from pyramid goal dumps Total match score: about 315-333 |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Quote:
If 254 and 1986 could climb together somehow, trade 1114 or 67 for 1986. 1986 has a wing auto, which scores 12 points. The second dumper only scores 10 points. Quote:

Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
I think the best match up would have both alliances have A) pure full court shooter with some climbing B) great cycler/pickup with 30 climb C) a pickup bot that can also shoot full court
This would lead to the matchup of Blue: A) 1806 B) 1114 C) 469 Vs. Red: A) 148 B) 254 C) 987 In autonomous, blue will score 13 discs and red will score 13 or 15 discs depending on whether 1806 or 1114 can stop red from getting the center discs. This way, on the blue alliance, 1806 will shoot all of the discs besides 12 white and 4 blue for 1114. 469 will pickup all the missed discs in front of the opponents goal and score them before picking up the missed discs from 1806. Then they all will climb. On the red alliance, 148 will shoot all of the discs from their feeder station with the help of 987. Meanwhile, 254 will pick up all the discs from their opponents side and score them into the goal and then score the missed discs from 148. After shooting some full court, 987 will pickup from the floor all that it can and climb. 148 will climb first and be stopped before 254 climbs with just a few seconds left, that way they can both fit. This is what think the best matchup would be and I would really like to see this at IRI and I feel that with some luck they could almost happen with both full court shooters being selected 3rd. |

Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
The Ultimate Team imo is:
1114, 2056, 67 but the sickest matchup would be: Canada vs USA 1114, 2056, 1310 vs. 67, 469, 118 |

Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Ok, no one has said it yet so I guess I might as well.... Bring back the Eh-Team!!!!!!
1114-2056-4334 50 pt. climb & dump, efficient cycler, 7 disc auton, ground pickup, FCS, what more could you want in an alliance? (Besides defense, but that seems to be irrelevant in this thread). An alliance of this power would certainly be putting up some big points. To compete against this we would need some big competition. Where could we find big competition? Texas of course! Everything is bigger in Texas ;) 118-148-1477 Potential for a 9 disc auton here, FCS, 40 pt. climb and dump, the 2 ground pickups could put up serious points on a field with 2 FCS's emptying the feeder stations. Let's get a FIRST Olympics in the offseason, each country can nominate a dream alliance to play and they square off. US v.s. Canada v.s. Rest of World. It's on! |

Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
1114 469 1310 v 254 987 610
Two thirty point climbers. Four full court shooters. Two ground pickups per alliance. 15 disc autonomous on both sides potentially. 50 pyramid points each. Would 1114's red disc advantage (effectively 8 net points) make the difference? |

Nor Cal versus So Cal
Nor Cal 254-971-1678 versus So Cal 1538-3476-2485 Bonus: Central California: 1717-973-1662 A round robin would be "hella" awesome. |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Quote:
I think SoCal would have the edge with 2485's awesome FCS, plus two effective ground pick ups. All three alliances have 15 disc auto potential. None of the Nor Cal bots directly human load, which could affect cycle times for the entire alliance. Hella awesome indeed. -Mike |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
Quote:
That norcal alliance has a bit of a disadvantage due to all the robots being exclusively ground pick up, that central CA alliance would be a hella good team though, all of those robots wold work really well together. |
Re: 2013 Dream Matchup
I don't know about dream match, but here's my dream Einstein:
Texas vs. Canada, Michigan vs. California 1477-148-118 vs. 1114-610-1241 , 33-217-67 vs. 3476-207-254 The winners would probably be Texas and Michigan, which would provide an awesome final. Shout out to 1477. U guys beat us first round @ Bayou. Proud of y'all!! |

Or 6 30 point climbers. |
