I chose Moot because it is open source. You can modify it and it is totally free, customizable, and different. It just fit the websites needs very well. :)

Welcome to the new social network for FIRST Robotics. Its like nothing you have ever seen before.

Give it a look at http://www.yopyip.com/

I think the registration should have been a little more FIRST-specific. With everyone using nicknames and no profile or other info, it becomes difficult to know who you're talking to (student from a FIRST team? Mentor? Engineer?). Also, giving the option of linking to facebook makes the community a bit more separated since half the members will have real names and the other half nicknames

CD provides labels and team number associations, which would have been good to add at registration to at least have a profile. Also, CD tracks users in terms of post count and other things, so you can tell if your questions or comments are getting looked at and responded to by "experts".

I do agree with you. While Yopyip does not have some of those things, it does however have a clean look and feel. It also makes communicating with others in FIRST more seamless and makes it simpler to share information. I don't intend to replace Chief Delphi, but I do intend to give FIRST a better place to communicate. :) Thanks for the input!

If it were to replace something, it seems closer to replacing the sub-reddit then CD. Yopyip is a good place for basic chit chat or simple questions.

Is there a time lapse between when you create an account and when verification is sent to you? I was told I would get an email but none has arrived yet.

Otherwise, this looks great. Hope it takes off and good luck!

Thanks! Yes sir, you should have gotten an email notification when you signed up. When you sign up you put your email in there. If it is not working, try again for me. Thanks :)

I love the aesthetics of this new forum. However, I do not think that it will be as succesful as this forum. The reason why is because this forum already has the community built up. I'm willing to help a little bit, but it will require some hard work to get the community. Also, I am unable to log in. The log in tab automatically closes and I haven't been signed up. Otherwise, Good work and keep the effort.
:] :]

Thanks! We really appreciate it! We are working hard to get this out into the FIRST community. We understand it is not Chief Delphi, but it is another simple alternative to it. We are working on growing our audience. We already have over 300 signed up.

And for your login problem. Once you create an account, you will get an email conformation. Lick the link provided and you should be logged in. Logging in normally you just click login, and then it comes up with another window. After you fill out the information it should redirect you to the forum. :) Did that help?

Great Job. 300 people in not less. It is equal to ten teams complete. I will be recommending this to my team.
