1592 is a surrogate in match 25.

It's randomly assigned by the FMS

No, I mean how do you know its match 25 vs any other match that 1592 has?

The column next to the team number has an F (False) or T (True). A "T" means the match is a surrogate for that team.

In the columns next to the team numbers, there are F's and T's. The 3 T's are the surrogate matches. The rest all have "F"s.

If a team has a surrogate match, it's always their third qualification match.

As detailed in section 5.3.2 in the manual surrogate match teams are randomly assigned but their third match will always be the surrogate one.

It used to be that the last match for any given team was the surrogate match, if they were in one. After some rumors of teams who were already in the top 8 basically not caring about that match--when their partners DID very much care--it was changed to the third match in an attempt to make it matter. So far, no complaints about teams not caring about that match.

It wasn't a rumor, it did happen. One team elected not to play in as a surrogate; one of their alliance partners would have been in the top 8 had they won the match. That's all I'll say on it.

Oh boy. My team is in Qual #1. I like that match. 1114 vs 1538 with us in between :D .
