Robot POV Videos

At many competitions such as IRI, I saw many mounted cameras on robots and even drivers heads. Just wondering if teams can post links to the videos because they are always fun to watch.

If you saw two crazy people in black shirts running around at IRI with three GoPros, that would be me and my friend Chris :D, now graduated Pascack Pi-oneers. You can see some example videos at the bottom of our Bridgewater-Raritan playlist here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...qVyQzSWZoiaBrK. We have a GoPro on our robot, on one the driver station with a mic, and a camera recording the robot from the stands, and overlay them into one video per match. At IRI though, we brought a head mount, so we had all of the above AND a GoPro on either our human player's or coach's head. We were very fortuneate to get to put our GoPro head mount on ref Mike Rizzo, FTA Liz Smith, and MCs Amanda and Matt at IRI for a match each too. AND we were also lucky enough to GoPro-up our good friends 1640, Sa-BOT-age for a match, and even extremely kind and polite powerhouse 67, The HOT Team for their last semifinal match and also the finals. Thanks soooo much to everyone who let us record them this past weekend, especially Amanda, Matt, and 67 for letting complete strangers strap cameras to you . We can't wait to upload the footage to our YouTube channel (youtube.com/team1676), and we'll be sure to let you know when it's up!

We had 3 GoPros running all weekend. We will post some footage soon. They caught some really cool moments aside from our regular match play including being fed by a stray 1114 shot and taking our first fall off the pyramid in Semi Final 1.2. :o

Here is a video one of our students made with his GoPro footage at the Pine Tree Regional. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y21rH4L3BBQ

We put a camera in our blocker this weekend at IRI. Video is here:

(We used the blocker in one other match, but no full-court shots were attempted).

Here's some damage on our blocker from 67s shooter:

We had the go pro on every match (which we will be uploading all of them shortly)
The one i thought was interesting was match 23. We went to block 67 at the beginning but had our drive chain break off so we were stuck there.
When we stopped though we got a video of our 3467 un-lodging a Frisbee by hitting the drivers station which launched the laptop off the ledge (1:30). Then we got a great shot of Hot Team climbing and dumping (1:33) and another of 3467 climbing to the second rung(2:08).

We are so sorry about that! We had a frisbee fall into our hopper in a unique position that caused it to rest in the bucket wedged up on our climber. In the process of ramming into a wall to get it down several shooter PWMs became unplugged causing those amazing shots at the end!

Our drivers also got so shaken up by how long it took to get the jam out they had issues lining up to climber keeping us on level 2.

It's fine we just thought it was kind of funny when the laptop flew at us. It was too bad every team on our alliance had problems with 303 being disconnected. You guys jammed up and we weren't able to drive but at least you could climb for 20.

I have all of our Gopro match videos from IRI up and in this playlist.
Full field videos are in each descriptions.
Some of the videos are angles that are being experimented with, comment on what you think of them.

At Waterloo this year my team (772) had a GoPro on the robot and it flipped up and was able to see 1114 climbing to the top of the pyramid and dumping all 4 disks in the top. It was the first time they completed this task in a competition and was really cool to see it happen, and get the world high score in Qualifications w/o Penalties.

Here is the video

The FRCTop25.com has done some POV with our GoPro, and actually have the driver's mic'd up as well! Really cool stuff! Check it out on our YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/mikeandjustinitm- Look for videos entitled "Behind the Glass"!!

its mostly raw footage and will be edited at some point, but there are some good views. unfortunately the battery went flat for the semis and the finals. my personal favourite is watching 148`s climb. the climb begins at about 1:50 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLu2mpOGWO8

Re: Robot POV Videos

This video highlights our rebuild at our 2nd regional event. It has robot POV footage from our last match at the CT regional. I would say this is one of the better on-robot videos we have (we have a lot thanks to one of our students religiously mounting the GoPro).

This video highlights our collaboration with 228 this year and features videos taken at the CT Champs event on both 228's and 2168's robots.

well, when we needed disks of that kind of size, we asked ourselves, what else is 3" in diameter, 1" thick, and costs $1.00. couldn't think of anything else we could make for that price, so hockey puck with silicone cookie sheet zip tied around it was our intake rollers. Also hockey pucks are very Canadian.

also forgot to add that balancing our shooter wheel both statically and dynamically made our videos (and Frisbee shots) much MUCH smoother. (and more accurate)

Go Pro mounted on the left side of the shooter at IRI. Some good view of open shooting, blocked shooting, and climbing. Uploading as I type, hopefully they will be all up soon.
