In Missouri for Ultimate Ascent:

1) 1986- 30pt climb, amazing cycler, and 7 point auto with a record of 57-6-0

2) 3284- 10pt climb, good cycler, and amazing defense!!! Record of 31-19-0

3) 1806- 40pt climb, amazing cycler, and FCS! Record of 33-9-0

If by usually, you mean for the second or third time in 22 seasons :P.

I also haven't seen the Clarkson twins, 229/4124 mentioned for NY yet. They won at GSR with 610 and put up some really high scores in Boston. It was a shame that 4124 was not selected in Curie. These guys and gals also did it all on an extremely limited budget and almost exclusively college students as mentors.

I agree, I believe that they were two of the best cyclers in NY. And who could forget all those talons???

EDIT: Ironically, this was my 229th post.

If you'll notice I said state or province twice in my post just for our friends in the north. Although I guess I should also say or country for Israel, Mexico and other countries.

The top 3 robots in Connecticut in my opinion would have to be in no particular order:

2168 - Solid 3 disk autonomous, great drivetrain, (as well as a skilled driver who knows how to use its advantages) very fast cycler, and a reliable hang, an all around superb robot they're definitely someone to watch out for in the next years especially as districts roll around.

177 - Again a great 3 disc autonomous as well as a reliable climber, however what really made the Bobcats such a lethal team was their ability to cycle with such accuracy that you don't find in some other tall bots, but they could also full court shooter with extremely high precision when they needed to as well. Not to mention that I can say through experience that they are a very gracious team to work with as we played with them in eliminations of one of our offseason events.

230 - This team has consistently built great robots that are always a threat to be contended with, they have a great 3 disc autonomous, are a phenomenal cycler, could block full court shooters (which unfortunately we had to run into a few times:( ), had a 20 point climb which was rare in other robots. They also use a Mecanum drive train, which even though Mecanum receives a lot of bad rep they were able to use it to their advantages which gave them a whole new side to be lethal with.

For Indiana

868-Amazingly fast cycler and winner of both the Indiana Regionals and the State championships.

829-Also a fast cycler capable of keeping up with 868 with an amazing utility arm.

234-A fast cycler who lost in the finals of Boilermaker to 868 and the Hawaiian Kids and won Crossroads and the state championships with 868.

694 was also forgotten. They won NYC, then proceeded to put up some big numbers in CT.

So excluding 20, i'd say the top teams in NY in no particular order were:

694
4124/229
3003
3015

All almost exclusively cyclers.

EDIT: How the heck did I forget 2791? Shaker is definitely also in the running for top 3 NY robots this year (especially since they seeded 1st and picked us at WPI). I'd love to see any of these cyclers go head-to-head on an open field. See who can put up more cycles.

The Pacific Northwest:

1983 Skunkworks
They had a great full-court shooter. They were undefeated in qualifications in Curie division at Champs. They are a strong presence in the Northwest.

2557 SOTABots
They had arguably the best cycler in the Northwest. Fast, agile, and accurate.

2471 Team Mean Machine
Another team that does well each year. They had a full court shooter.

South Carolina -

#1 4451 - Robotz Garage- Possibly the best rookie South Carolina has ever produced..we'll have to wait for next season to be sure of that but so far so good. 3 RAS including a World Division RAS.

#2 3489 - CatEgory 5 - Winning the Peachtree Regional included beating out the wildly successful teams like 624, 4552 (1771's reincarnation), and 2415.

Third is somewhat of a tossup..teams like 1319, 342, & 1102 all built fairly solid machines. However...

#3 4452 - FIRST NOBLE Team - was the only other team to attend world from SC due to their RAS at the Peachtree Regional and you can't ignore that they also went undefeated in the quals to end up pairing up with 624. It was a shame to see that alliance have technical difficulties when it mattered most.

Someone can throw out a number if they think I missed someone who performed better.

I'm pretty sure 1983 did NOT have a full-court shooter.

Re: Top 3 bots in your state: 2013

Three is such a limiting number, but for CT I would pick (no particular order):

195 - Crazy accurate full court shooter, probably one of the top 5 FCS this season. (Maybe only 67, 225, 2169, or 469 could match their power)

2168 - They had a solid scoring robot at CT and their crazy defense at WPI shut down the high offensive power of 20 and 2791.

1699 - They went completely unnoticed throughout the CT Regional at a 3-6 record (Even though they placed 2nd at Chesapeake Regional). They were a good cycler/defender/blocker. They also improved their shooter for the CT Championship (An offseason event).

All three of these teams were great to work with in matches.
There are obviously a lot of talented teams in CT, it was tough to pick just three.

I appreciate that you didn't put your own team on your list, but I think everybody knows that a list of the top 3 Connecticut teams this year is incomplete without 195.

I do not believe 1983 had a full court shooter they had a very strong mulit speed drive train and in Elensberg they finally got there shotter up and running just barley by the last day of qualifiers.

For my top 3 for washigton

2471- Team Mean Machine- Strong very accurate full court shooter

2557- Soda Bots- By far the best cycler

1983- Skunk works robotics - At the Elensberg Regonal was by far the best defensive bot there also by the time of Eliminations was scoring hard core as well.

What number were you using to determine that sota was the best cycler?
360,1318,1899,1983 all scored more points in teleop without full court shooting

Many People in CT are also leaving out 175. Buzz had a Consistent 4-5 Disc autonomous this year and could cycle very efficiently. They held their own at Connecticut and Champs, and helped 195 to a win at the Beantown Blitz.
