Well you can thank my 8th grader who saw just your last match in qualifications who relayed the pick to our alliance captain. I was the one that then suggested 3735 as the backup since we did the same pool noodle job during a match against 148 earlier in the day.

A score of 202-201 in finals match 1 is pretty close if you ask me. :)

It was indeed too close. Hey we hope to see your team sometime again. We had a blast hanging with you guys in elims. we learned so much from y'all and torque. We appreciate all that you guys do for FRC! Maybe our teams can meet up at an event in the coming years? haha we will see.

The results can be found here: http://goo.gl/FVryX8

Team 2936, the Gatorzillas, played some very effective defense against 4587 by keeping them away from 148's full court shooter. Those matches were intense to watch.

I feel like any one of the top 4 alliances could have won. I hope someone has the matches recorded and can share!

The top 4 TRR alliances were stacked.
#4 4063/2468/2789 won Alamo Regional
#3 118/148 paired to win Lone Star this year
#2 1477/359 were paired up at IRI
#1 624/3310/2848 actually won TRR (but probably could have won any FRC regional)

For results you can also checkout Blue Alliance ! http://www.thebluealliance.com/event/2013trr
(NOTE: there are a couple typos on Blue Alliance, I'm working to get them fixed)

Re: 4587's full court blocker

You know I've seen dozens of Full Court blockers, and how many defensive teams (on the FCS's alliance) have nosed their way between the blocking robot and the full court shooter, pushing the blocker away. Is there any team who has done the following (I can't put it into words)...
Code:

BlockerBlockerBlockerBlock
|                      |
|                      |
Wheel    Wheel    Wheel

            Forward -->

Wheel    Wheel    Wheel

So that they can plant themselves into the wall with their front/back touching the wall? That way they can't easily be pushed away?

We did with our net http://www.thebluealliance.com/match/2013mosl_qm75 (You can ignore the cross the field error at the end :o ) We had AM pneumatic wheels so it was very hard to push us out of the way. Also team 3284 had a front blocker, but they had one of the strongest drive trains that I saw all year so they sortta count ;) They went 3-1 blocking in this match http://www.thebluealliance.com/match/2013gal_qm75 Wow both were match 75 :D

We did this at IRI very successfully.
