For my friends, I was at Walgreens today and pool noodles are $1 each, happy shopping.

Are they the same length as the $1.99 ones at pool stores and other places? I saw some at dollar stores also but they are shorter and feels smaller in diameter.

They measured at 2.5 for diameter and just under 5ft long. I will take one to school and compare, but I think they are ok.

I also got about 30 noodles at Menard's for .77 each. They look at you funny when you buy that many... And more so why you say they are for a robot.

I'll pay $.77 for a pool noodle rather than face this heat...

I really wish FIRST would just bundle freaking pool noodles in the KoP...Heck, bumper fabric and backing too. It would resolve so many problems with teams using colors that are clearly WRONG (I've seen pink and black bumpers).

Shipping volume is too large.

But I do like the idea of the fabric. Got a source of donated Cordura?

Real Simple magazine has an article this month on "New uses for Pool Noodles".
If only they knew....

No, truth I don't know where to get Cordura hence why I suggest it be part of the kit.

RE Shipping volume: Maybe add them into FIRST Choice? It'd let teams that can't get pool noodles in season get them easily and the teams would cover the shipping costs?

AndyMark has everything you need.

If you need larger pieces of bumper fabric, you can find that information on the FIRST website http://www.usfirst.org/sites/default...eToGetMore.pdf

There are other CD links that discussed fabric source in the past. A simple search will find them.

I know AM has that kit. But time was (2005-2007) we could say that everything to field a LEGAL robot was in the KoP. Since requiring bumpers we can no longer say that. I think that statement is an important one for us to be able to make.
