Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
Awesome! Three hours of practice matches!
If we get three hours of qual matches, at 8 mins per match (is that reasonable?), there'll be six matches per team in quals. |
Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
That's not a lot of time for quals :(
That's a long, long lunch for an offseason as well. |

For the record we ran a 7 minute match cycle at the throwdown last year. That was with a ton of volunteers and a very easy game to reset! For this game I see 8-10 minutes standard for offseasons. http://throwdown.team1323.com Also, I figure you'll get about: -8 matches an hour -3.5 hours for about 28 matches total -Ran a quick simulation, you'll only get 6 or 7 matches total. -Throwdown did 5 hours of matches @ 29 teams and barely got 7 matches per team. -Matches up with Roger's post earlier -RC |
Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
You're right. We did the math assuming 5 minute match cycles but we forgot how long scoring takes for this game, even with a lot of volunteers. Hopefully we can get in 7 matches per team.

Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
What time do you think you'll be posting the match schedule today?
Also, you should probably make it a big priority to make robots who didn't play Friday get their radios programmed AND tested in a fake match early Saturday morning. If a team blows 1-2 matches due to radios not being right, that's going to really rain on their parade. |

Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
Tentative Match Schedule! We realize that many teams are scheduled to play back-to-back and there is not much we can do to avoid this, as we only have 23 robots playing. If you're playing back-to-back, we highly suggest you bring two batteries with you to the field to swap out after the first match.

Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
I just spent the last few hours down in SJ loading the official FRC field at Playing at Learning into the Powerhouse truck! 100 was tapped at the last minute to fill in for another team that couldn't make it, and organised a last minute trip down to help out.
We're going to be playing on the official CVR, LVR, and LA (among others) field with FMSLite. Despite the last minute nature, a great time was had by all the teams that helped out. We also got to tell Mark Edleman first hand that we named our offseason robot after him! |
Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
Is there a livestream of the event set up?
|
Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
Yes... But I don't have the link. I believe 846 is doing it.

Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
1678 is working on streaming the event. We're still running into a few glitches involving internet and firewalls, and people are working on it tonight. Hopefully it'll be up in time for qualification matches.
If everything goes well, the webcast will be at: http://citruscircuits.org/live/ |

Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
Thanks to everyone for the great competition! Powerhouse was a super fun event, I'm sure well try to make it again next year.
A special shout out to teams 973, 1678 and 692. Working with, learning from, and competing against 973 and 8973 was amazing. Their offseason bots were great as always, and it was really cool to work with them on and learn from their scouting system. 1678 was a great competitor, and a friendly collaborator. I was really excited to see an Einstien level robot at the offseason. 692 was a great alliance partner, and it's too bad that we won't have annother opportunity to work with them at CalGames. |
Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
I was out the whole day Saturday and was only able to see the last match - any idea on if the matches are going to be uploaded anywhere?

Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info

Re: P0W3RH0U53 GAMEDAY Info
A big thank you to 2073, 3859 and 692 for hosting this event. We had a really fun time and were excited to be able to compete with and against some really great robots. All three of 973's bots were great competitors and 9973's shot was something to behold. 1323 came so close to perfecting their 7-disc auto and was a super competitor in the finals.
Thank you to 9973 and 9859 for being great alliance partners and to 1323, 973 and 4498 for making the finals so much fun. This was a very successful event in so many ways and I am sure that it is destined to continue to be successful in the future. Put the word out to other teams about how much fun you had so we can try to make it even bigger next year. 1678 is looking forward to seeing some of you at Cal Games and Madtown Throwdown. |
