In Reply to: Blue Prints Posted by Elaine on 1/8/2001 7:06 PM EST: The new ones are really well done. The only thing I could want now would be for FIRST to release the field drawings in some CAD format (pdf is universal, but rather unworkable). |
Um, still a few mistakes.

I just found a mistake on the latest drawing/field BOM. There are two P16 pipes, both made out of different material, and of different sizes. One goes on the stretcher, and one is on the center barrier. One of these needs to be renamed as P18. Anyways, besides this little identity crisis, the P16 for the center barrier is of size 14.25". It would seem that this P16-centerbarrier should be of the same size as P8, right? P8, however is of size 16". Needless to say, its not time to start building your field yet. Am I missing something here? Maybe so. Please tell if you see what I see. |

It seems we have 2 materials and 2 lengths for the barrier upright supports. The barrier upright supports on each side of the bridge are P16, 1-1/4" OD schedule 40 steel pipe, 14-1/4" long. The remaining 4 barrier supports P10, are 1-1/4" OD schedule 40 Aluminum pipe, 16" long. Is possible to use two lengths of pipe and get a level barrier? I noticed another problem caused by the revised blue print. A dimension of 3'-0 1/2" was added for the goal base, view C-C. The bill of material still has this dimension at 34-1/4". Last time I checked, 3 ft = 36". Which dimension is correct? |
