Caster Modification

Student on team #548, Robostangs, from Northville High School and BOSCH. Are we allowed to modify casters to make them larger? The list of additional hardware says that we can use any amount of casters, up o 3in., in dia.. Is it legal to remove the wheel and plates on the sides, machine our own side plates, and replace the 3in wheel with another one, ie 6in wheelchair wheel? Essentially, we would only be using the swivel and the mounting bracket from the 3in caster. |

You can also make your own casters all the way from scratch, with the same limitations. Good luck. Dodd |
