Nvidia Shield As Controller?

What are people's opinions on using Nvidia Shields as driver station controllers?

Can it run Windows 7? If not, it looks kind of unusable.

There has already been a short thread about it here.

Re: Nvidia Shield As Controller?

They're released the source code to the OS, which means it can be used for more than gaming. If it's going to be used the way I think it will be, that's still an incredibly hacky way of pushing video from the robot to the computer to the SHIELD.

In my opinion, it adds extra complexity to the equation that isn't going to add much to your DS. Go ahead and try it before build season, but keep in mind that it will get in the way of other pursuits once January hits.
