PTC Windchill

Folks,

Looking for a better way to collaborate, schedule, and communicate for the team. PTC is very generous by letting us use Windchill. Windchill looks good but may be over the top for occasional users? How complex is it? I have signed up but am still waiting for the invite. Are there options? Help!

Re: PTC Windchill

We used it to share CAD files last year, but given the size of our school (tiny) and team (small), the rest of the collaborative stuff seemed a bit like killing a mosquito by nuking it from orbit....

However, the RoboTalk series from PTC has not only great introductory information on Creo, they also (in the later episodes) get into how Windchill will benefit teams--and there's a bunch of stuff we didn't use last year that we're looking at this year!

We use Windchill but not every function. It is not that hard to use. Just like Creo which is very powerful, we probably use only about 20% of its capabilities. Same thing for Windchill, you can pick and choose how you want to use it. It is better than Google doc in every aspect except you cannot have more than one user working on the same document like in Google doc. Our team use Google doc when it makes sense. We also use other online group for team communication. Other than that we use Windchill for CAD files and other things that Windchill is the better choice.
