World War II Turret Restorer
World War II Airplane Turret Restorer
I'm a sucker for unique restorations, but this a step above the rest... Acquiring turrets in junk yard and returning them to working condition so you can play with them. Lots of mechanical engineering goodies, and boy do they look like fun. ![]() And here's a write up that goes with the video... really neat stuff! |
Re: World War II Turret Restorer
Really cool find. This guy would be a fun FRC mentor to have :)
I'm a big fan of any type of old mechanical restorations, so if you find more, post them up! |

You will probably enjoy this website as well. The Vintage Aviator is Peter Jackson's airplane collection, and they do lots of ground up extremely accurate restorations and reproductions.
This is their replica of the engine that powered the Red Baron's triplane that involved lots of one-off engineering and heavy metal. WW1 Oberusel Reproduction |
